# Editor and documents

1. Paste text or import one TXT, DOCX, or text-based PDF, up to 5 MB. PDFs are limited to 50 pages. Scanned PDFs need OCR elsewhere; password-protected PDFs need an unlocked copy. TXT should use UTF-8. Legacy DOC files are not supported.
2. Files are parsed locally in the browser. Only extracted text is imported, without images or original formatting. Imports over 100,000 characters are rejected. No text is silently truncated.
3. Review the imported text. Each rewrite accepts up to 1,000 words and 8,000 characters; shorten longer imports before continuing.
4. Select a tone and optionally enable Controls: length (keep, shorter, expand), reading level (general, simple, academic), strength (light, balanced, strong), and up to 30 exact terms. Each term has a 100-character limit and all terms together have a 1,200-character limit.
5. Choose Humanize text. A three-second preparation bar provides feedback; the result is ready only when the AI request finishes. A Stop control cancels the browser request.
6. Compare changes against the original submitted for that rewrite, edit the result, and copy or download as TXT. Changing the input marks the existing result as belonging to an earlier draft.
7. Clear draft resets both panes; Undo clear restores them until you start a new draft or rewrite. Drafts are not saved across reloads.
